Stephane Noel is a Belgian artist renowned for his photographs made with gum bichromate, a multi-layer process dating from the 19th century.

His works are long term projects where he fully assimilates with his subjects over a period of several months, even years, before a single photo is taken.
During many years, he worked on Los Ultimos Carboneros, a tribute to the charcoals burners in Cuba. His work has been exhibited in differents international museums and cultural centers, as Museo de Bellas Artes de Valparaiso, Muzeum Narodowe, or Corporacion Cultural de Las Condes, Santiago de Chile.
